Talk about under the wire!

Done.
18,861 total words, about 2/3 as long as "Bred in the Bone", but seeing as how I slacked all day Saturday just thinking up the story rather than labouring behind a keyboard, that's not too surprising.

Still, the pressure of a shorter deadline brought economy to the story. I'm pretty happy with it, overall.

The title is "An Oath as Stong as Bone"

Phew!

Cool! Now pour a drink, kick back, hug your kitties and get a good night's sleep. We'll talk to you tomorrow.

Congratulations! Make that drink a double. (And thinking up the story isn't slacking; it's plotting and developing character.)

Congratulations Greybishop! I second what Lady and Charlotte have said. I hope you pour a nice double cream for your little kitties too!

OK, GB, it's Tuesday now. Have you made your post office run yet?

So, how did the kids do with all of this? Were they helpful? Or not?

Hey folks, I haven't printed it out yet. My printer at work is an inkjet, so 70ish pages is going to use a lot of very expensive ink. I have a friend that owns an office supply shop, so it might be cheaper to have him laser print it. I'll be checking/doing that later today.

The kitties were not exactly helpful, getting into mischief just about every time I got rolling, but they were there for me when I needed a break and a cuddle, so they earned plenty of treats that way.

Thanks again for all the kind words and thoughts, folks!

Sure enough, about $3.50 to print it out with my friend at his shop.
Probably $15 in ink if I did it myself.

GB! glad it's behind you...do we have to wait until jan/feb again to see if you won?

may i request a pdf copy when you get a chance?

kitties can be distracting, but also very therapeutic. gotta take the good with the bad, i suppose. and for me, the good outweighs the bad (most days...).
